If a rational person could be found on Fox, anyone that is cognizant to see the brain washing on fox and realize that they fall in to the general category of those that can't see....Waters categorizing of all is a bit much but if she had said most....well......the pied piper has been playing for awhile now and many and many on the vine are played to the tune of the coded pied piper.

DS12, after some thought, I believe I acted hastily in my deletion of your comment, although I'm going to ask you to stick to the topic, which is NOT Fox News. It's pretty much common knowledge I'm not a Fox News watcher, but this story is worthy of being seeded here regardless of where it came from and you DID in fact speak to the topic.

Demon: a person considered extremely wicked, evil, or cruel.

I think that's an accurate description of some of these dirt bags. Let's take a random subject...abortion. They believe that victim of rape, who is pregnant and the pregnancy threatens the life of the mother should be denied an abortion. Isn't that cruel?

They have spent the past 3 years punishing the American people by rejecting just about every single bill they didn't create themselves, even when it's ideas they had, just to stick it to Obama. I'd say that's all 3.

They craft laws for the American people that they are not held to e.g. they are allowed to participate in Insider Trading and even give this information to their employees and even friends at Hedge Funds, and there can be no prosecution...I think that is either wicked or cruel or both.

I could go on.

THis is another great Maxine Waters (D. Calif) moment brought to us by the crazy ol'Foxnews.

She has spoken other racist "gems" like:

After the health care bill was signed in April 2010, Waters denounced flag-waving at a Tea Party rally. "I was amazed. I really was. I didn't say anything to anybody. I just watched—the Republicans were out there—they were having a great time. They were laughing, they were waving the American flag, they were egging them on, and I thought that was outrageous behavior. I really did."

At a 2004 congressional hearing, (and yes, that is the same "Frank" Raines that vastly overstated Fannie Mae's earnings in order to receive $90 million in bonuses). "We do not have a crisis at Freddie Mac, and particularly Fannie Mae, under the outstanding leadership of Frank Raines."
http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=45762

Maxine Waters and Charlie Sherrod have a lot of race hate in common.

http://www.allamericanblogger.com/11305/charles-sherrod-finally-we-must-stop-the-white-man-and-his-uncle-toms-from-stealing-our-elections/

Charles Sherrod was a Freedom Rider. He fought for equal treatment and was beaten for it.Back then, he showed more courage than most Americans ever will. But what he said here is outright racist.

Charles Sherrod: "Finally, We Must Stop the White Man and His Uncle Toms From Stealing Our Elections…"

My, My. It seems that some on this vine are upset that Ms. Waters referred to some Rep/tpers as demons. Um! my guess she probably figured it would be okay to use that type of language as the Rep/tpers have modeled it ever since the President was elected. Lets see does Muslim, anti-Christian, "liar", communist, socialist, dictator sound familiar and I could good on. Payback can not only be truthful but painful.

Oh, I see, Annie, it's the old..."but the other side does it too" defense. Fact of the matter is, Maxine Water has no business calling anyone anything - she is a corrupt POC politician stealing the people's money and lining her pockets with it.

Why she is still in Congress amazes me. She has been on the most corrupt list since 2005.

http://www.citizensforethics.org/press/entry/maxine-waters-named-most-corrupt-member-of-congress

She has a history of saying derogatory things - these being but a few examples:

  • "The future of this community depends on our ability to stop the monster in its tracks." (At an anti-Wal-Mart protest).
  • "George W Bush, go to hell! And while you're at it, we want you to take Ashcroft with you. And don't forget Rumsfeld. And please carry along Condi Rice. . . I have to march because my mother could not have an abortion." (at the televised March for Women's Lives march, Washington D.C., April 24, 2005)
  • she gained fame by walking into the Oval Office and telling then-President George H.W. Bush that "[his] time was up."

http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Maxine_Waters

She and Bawney Fwank are both corrupt to the hilt and played games with the TARP bailout money:

http://www.bostonherald.com/blogs/news/lone_republican/?p=997&srvc=home&position=recent

- thank God that perve Fwank is getting out. The Dems will name the other corrupt one, Waters, to replace Fwank as the head of the Banking committee...just perfect. Again, why is the POC woman still in Congress after having been exposed as the fraud she is clear back in 2005?

Well said, Jim.

To voice your opinion and use "swear" words when talking about a public figure is not a violation of the CoH. Don't act like butter melts in your mouth so the swear words offends you or that similar words are not used by you to describe the members of the GOP. We should not get in the habit of collapsing a comment simply because we don't like their POV.

I see no purpose for having the collapse feature unless it can be refined. Moderators cannot delete collapsed comments, so if the comment DOES violate the COH, it's not deletable unless Tyler or Sally show up. And it's used 99.9% of the time to merely censor an opposing viewpoint and this is done by both sides, not just one or the other. THIS is the very reason it's my opinion this feature needs immediate refinement.

nospin, Is that right? Answer....take a good look at your obstructionist party. I USED to be a Republican, up until this last election, when I discovered that I didn't agree with 99% of what the Republican Party stands for. I also left the RP because of the fact that Bush lied about WMDs to get more troops sent to war. I am not apologizing for anything that President Obama has done because, in my opinion, he hasn't done anything wrong except for letting the Republicans walk all over him. He needs to be tougher during his SECOND TERM.

You claim you were a Republican and changed because of your claims above is silly.

First, calling the republican party obstructionists is nonsense. What they did for the first two years of the Obama admin was what the voters wanted. Proof = the 2010 election result.

Second, you say Bush lied about the wmd's, Bush was not smart enough to cover up the truth with lies (unless you think Bush was smarter than the dems which no dems have suggested.) BTW, the dems gave approval for the war and funded it.

Thirdly, saying Obama hasn't done anything wrong equates to him being perfect and rational people know no one is perfect.

Your true colors are exposed as one who never was a Republican.

    Not really.

Bush pushed and pushed to send more troops to Iraq and convinced everyone (by lying) that Hussein had all of these WMD. He didn't.

And yes, the Republican Party has turned into the Obstructionist Dominionist Party. They have acted like babies since Obama was elected. I'll be so glad that we won't have to listen to any more of this one term president crap on the conservative stations come November. Your party doesn't have a decent candidate and you know it. The RP did the same thing last time, putting the Fool and the Tool on the ballot. Pretty sad that is all your party has to run against Obama.

I don't think that Obama has done much wrong. Of course, he isn't perfect and hasn't done a perfect job, but the economy is turning around, our 401K is way higher than it has ever been before, people are starting to shop again. I know that this is not what the Republicans want to see. They want Obama to fail no matter what. They would rather see Obama fail than to see our country recover from the BUSH years. It's pathetic.

I voted a straight Republican ticket up until Obama ran (and I did vote for Ross Perot). I couldn't care less if you believe me or not. Here are the group guidelines:

Newsvine Community is a group reserved for articles (NO SEEDS) about the Newsvine community itself.

    You are welcome to post:

    1. Ideas for nurturing or improving the Newsvine community.
    2. Articles detailing real-life get-togethers (VineMeets).
    3. Articles detailing online-life get-togethers (NDC, "parties" held on one's column)
    4. Announcements of contests or challenges (like Newsvine Photographer's monthly challenges) to be carried out by the members of the Newsvine community. The entries into these contests or challenges should NOT, however, be posted here.
    5. Interviews with or articles about other Newsvine members (that comply with the Code of Honor).

    Do not post:

    1. Seeds (unless it is an article posted elsewhere that specifically discusses the Newsvine/msnbc.com community of users)
    2. Political articles.

Essentially, the Newsvine Community group is a place to post articles that are about improving and nurturing the Newsvine community.

Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

    Hope this helps.

Sorry to all of you offended by my use of the challenged phrase. I am of Northern European heritage, and our usage of the phrase was always in the context of people of the same ethnicity who acted as if they had no manners and no ethics and thereby bring shame and embarrassment on that heritage. Boehner and the Teabaggers and the Joe Wilsons fit that description, and that is what I was getting at. Low-class people who by their views and actions are not worthy of the great legislative body of our republic. I used to use the term "trailer trash", but then thought it was insulting to the many good people who live in trailer housing as a matter of their economic condition.

Pelosi and Reid are a thousand times more honorable and have a thousand times more integrity. How about Darel Issa? Talk about insulting scum and a pig. How about that moron who can't even support his own kids? I'm talking about the scumbags who insult women, gays, people of color, and the President of the United States because of his party and because of his ethnic background. The list is long. But people who have no respect for others are deserving of no respect at all. Take that, Joe Wilson. People like him are dirt. Rep. Pelosi and Rep. Reid have done much more to enhance the well-being of the American people as a whole than any of these scumbags have.

I know. It's a waste of time. It's so difficult to compare and contrast people's behavior and conduct, instead of viewing people as "groups." It takes too many words to subdivide "groups" according to their actions: i.e. "good" Christians v. "bad" Christians, "good" men v. "bad" men, etc. You can't just say "Christian" or "men" because that implies all members of that group. Futility. But we have to say something to combat this nonsense, just so these people don't think we support them.

She was at a party convention, so I get why she's being all partisan, but after you're done calling people names, you have to go back and actually work with those people. We already have a problem with extreme partisanship in Congress. This just adds to the problem.

Wow. I went and read the article and came back here and it seems about 14 comments were made in 2 min!. Isn't it interesting that she is wearing RED. The woman behind her in blue looks a bit amazed. This woman is seriously unhinged. BUT she is fulfilling the democrats agenda, to divide this country. Throwing in the quaking banks was a nice touch...given the close association she enjoys with the OWLs, or hopes to have. She must think that the majority of the country agrees with the 99%. Is that who the audience is in this speaking venue? Aren't there bankers present who may be potential donors? faux paux... But her main concern is to be re-elected so she can stay on that finance board. No doubt. An example of someone who has no thought before she opens her mouth.

        Hey Drummerboy

From a friend to a friend: When people got nothing left to say or cannot defend their views it seems very common for them to toss out their race card or lob a political poop-grenade in the seed or at another poster. For others becoming a Spelling Naziism when they got nothing else.

Take a mental margarita break. Lower your blood pressure and you'll be okay. Don't let them goad you into making a comment that violates the CoH.

I wouldn't say Boehner or Kantor are demons, but they are what bad dreams are made of.

        Demons?.......Hardly.

The word "demon" actually means "wise one"

Neither Boehner nor Cantor fit that description.

Oh yes, there is wisdom and then there is wisdom, and from where does it come?

Who is wise, and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in humility that comes from wisdom. BUT if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. Such wisdom does come down from heaven but is earthly, nonspiritual, and of the devil. For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder, and every evil practice.

But the wisdom that comes from heaven if first of all pure; then peace loving, submissive , full of mercy and good fruit, impartial, and sincere. Peacemakers , who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness. James 3:13-17 (The brother of Jesus)

Love her use of descriptive language.

Quick, someone in production, next time Cantor is on camera and speaking in a microphone, draw two devil horns, and a wicked mustache on the lens of the camera. When Maxine sees that image on screen in the halls, oh, boy, that will get her running.

Come on SNL, this one is free.

Boehner is waaaay too much like Eeyore to ever be considered for demon status. Cantor is AT BEST an imp.

Don't ever let me see again, in life, those Republicans in our hall, on our screens, talking about anything. These are demons," she told the crowd.

Or what? Dammit if you're going to make a threat you gotta add teeth to it or it's just stupid posturing trying to get the lemmings ready for the jump.

Silly me. I thought that is why anyone is in Congress, to talk about things.

DB is it just me or does it seem Maxine is still getting a pass by the media and by many Dems for her unprofessional behavior?

Gee I wonder if old "Fair and Balanced" covers every story where Republicans demonize Democrats with the same fained outrage.

Just for the record Fox News follower the Venezuelan you are referring too, was elected by his people. Do Fox folks have a problem with Democracy.

Venezuela send subsidize oil to help low income Americans keep warm. What do Shell, BP, Exon, Mobile and other companies do beside buy politicians to look after their own narrow interest.

Can you cite ANY reference where a Republican sitting member of Congress called a democratic sitting member of Congress a "DEMON".

Here's my bet. I can go make lunch, clean my horse stalls, change my oil and take a nap before anyone comes up with your challenge drummerboy. in fact, I can live the rest of this year before someone comes up with that answer. Face it, Swamp Waters is an ignorant, racist bigot. AND NO REPUBLICAN HAS SAID SUCH A VILE THING ON THE FLOOR OF CONGRESS.

Stop with the....non existent equivalence nonsense.

Now that's a HOOT,,, as if elections in dictator controlled countries mean anything!!!

An election does not a Democracy make... Saddam was elected with 100% of the vote!

          Saddam 'wins 100% of vote'

Iraqi officials say President Saddam Hussein has won 100% backing in a referendum on whether he should rule for another seven years.

There were 11,445,638 eligible voters - and every one of them voted for the president, according to Izzat Ibrahim, Vice-Chairman of Iraq's Revolutionary Command Council.

The government insists the count was fair and accurate
